Hi Everyone,
My wife recently (11/7/2007) went to public bank bangsar to renew her insurance and roadtax for her car. The inquiry session with one of the bank officer (Sarina) prolonged for some while due to lack of information on the counter, where the officer need to call another branch to answer certain queries. After it's done and my wife walked out right infront of the bank, she (my wife) received a sms ('Si keling uma td bnyk songgeh tension btul nk windsn lah x nk la dkat 1 jam melyan dia. Mesti x leh rnew rtax dia kita rasa ada saman sbb biasanye cstmr bnyk hal memang x lpasnye rtax dia. Td kta ckp dgn alvin nanti u check dgn alvin k n tel no cstmr pun dh bg. Tq- sarna dis my 2nd tel no') It happens to be that the officer suppose to send it to her collogue but mistakenly sent it to my wife's HP since she had note my wife's number and her collogues number on her desktop during the inquiry session. I went all the way from nilai to the bank in bangsar right after that to meet up the manager but unfortunately the manager is not around and its already about 4pm. I then yelled at the officer and demand for her to put in writing about the incident which she admitted. Another manager admitted her fault and promise to give us the acknoledgement on monday (21/7/2008) after bringing this issue to the branch manager. I'm now really frustrated and i'm not going to leave this matter as it is. I'm seeking for help to bring up this issue seriously and please advice on how to go about this.
Thank you
I am sorry i came in late. The rudeness of Public Bank is understandable. Remember its a chingy bank for chingies only. They have been rude to indians for a long time. I have been in the banking industry for over 21 years and i can assure you they are interested in yr deposits but will slash yr throat when it comes to lending to Indians. I have seen many indians throw money in Public Trust. My advice, just be cautious because you will be sponsoring a chingy cause.
Now they merge Southern Bank, another chingy bank, into CIMB. Look at CIMB behaving chingy these days??? An indian guy got ripped off on the quick cash loan and now paying 36% interest rate. In one sense they deserve it because the walked in with their eyes closed.
dear Bro Ashok,
As per our teleconversation earlier, need your kind updates on this matter. Is there any reply from branch manager?
if no, why not we move to next action. pls logon to hindraf.ning.com and try to contact INDIRA(the malaysiakini) reporter as she is brave enough to cover this matter.
should you need further assistance, kindly contact me guna6570@yahoo.com
apreciated, you brave stand in not to step back..

hi,
i am really sorry if my writings hurt your feelings and blog in anyway. I have already flaged all my comments to the admin include this.
Your blog is very clear now. Have a nice day and good bye.
Also try to think out of the box of what your comments tantamount to. We are living in this 21st C and having demeaning slurs thrown at us as a community should face the full brunt of the community. Passively receiving it only encourages tormentors to be more bolder. I have faced similar taunts but have pursued it so severely that the sight of Indians makes non-Indians to drop the "K"word and address them as "macha, uncle, aunty and abang". A new sense of guilt and fear has dawned on those notorious ones in my neighborhood. It means fully pursuing it in all its legality not violence. So KrishnaVengat back off as you are doing now and stop butting into every thing that happens here just because you have the uncontrollable urge to comment even if it is rubbish. Leaving it to GOD was what Indians did for the last 50 over years, now Indians are taking destiny into their own hands and you act as if you are the soul and conscious of this movement. Stop believing in Ghandhi in totality only fools do that. he was relevant during his time but not anymore. Cheers.
Hi guys,
Thanks for the concerns and replies. As for me i'm not going stop presuring Public Bank management. I'll will go on and may need some helps from you guys too but for now let me go as far as possible. FYI, public bank has failed to come back with their black and white outcome of their investigation on this matter. But the manager has called and sent us a bouquet of flower to show their regrets. For me it's definitely not enough and i'm still demanding for the black and white acknowledgement. Lets see how far it goes.
As for krishavengkat, i think he is still miserable in his mission to fight for rights. He says 'Remember there are many more people who had and still facing traumas more serious than this'. So i quess he is saying that let us all get immune to the traumas so we don't take this kind of matter serious. Come on lah fren, don't you think we indians are patient enough all this while. I doubt it if Krishavengat ever joined the great Hindraf rally earlier becouse he sounded too trauma.
Dear krishavengat, are you sincere when saying ' we have to bring out our pride and rights'. How are you going to bring out your pride and rights when you have the patient to say 'This is a common scenario which has been happening to almost everyone in all places'? How pity, you no it's happening around you and you ignored it? If this is a small matter for you, why are you even talking about 18 demands? Every single small matters (for you) that we may just ignore could be one of the factor and reason why we are fighting for the 18 demands today. We ignore, we be tolerant, we be patient and we wait for hindraf to fight for us? Is that your policy to fight our rights. I don't really understand you, thats why i called you miserable. You want to fight but you ignore. Anyway, as for me there is no compromise for this kind of issue. Come on, be positive. My intention is not to create a racial tension but i'm trying to fight for the rights when there is a chance for me to do so.
You see, it's not actually the word 'keling' that HURTS but the FAKE SMILE and INSINCERE SERVICE that they are providing to INNOCENT customers.
hi,
First get to know that I am a female. My name is Krisha. I read your `positive` comments about my thoughts. First I wish you, thank you for commenting on me.
After reading your comments, I get to know that you have some misunderstanding with what I had wrote previously. ( 'This is a common scenario which has been happening to almost everyone in all places'? ) What I mean here is everyday malays, indians, chinese and etc are facing the similar problem as yours. I am sure you are aware that some indians treat other races badly, some chinese treat other races badly and malay treat other races badly. I won`t say that all malays, all indians and all chinese treat other races badly. Only some low moralised people will behave like this.
I regard this problem as a small matter because there are other big problems in our community which needs more attention. The problems like indian youths being killed under police custody, discriminations in several aspects like education, job and etc , hindu temple demolishing , body snatching after death and the most critical problem the high crime rate in our community. Have you ever thought or have this worrying feelings about these problems in you Mr. Ashok?
I understand your problem may sound or look big to you. But remember, we need to give and take if we intend to live in a community. What I mean here is, you have to be with this community in whatever situation. Please don`t come and join a community when only you need the community`s help. I am sorry to say this Mr. Ashok, because I feel you are turning to indian community just after you face this problem. That`s why I had a feeling that your problem is not a major problem. Infact that is the truth. Furthermore, I don`t want you to have the feelings as though all people from other races are the same. To tell you the truth, there are some malays and chinese whom I have met in my life are very impressing.
Talking about respect, not everyone knows to give and take respect from each other in a beautiful way. You have to accept this truth first. Most people look at financial status of the other person as a baseline to decide the degree of respect for them. Financial wise, indians are left far behind from other races. What do you expect from this type of mentality thinking people? I guess 90% of bank executives and clerks are having this negative thinking mentality. How do you want them to respect you? In your case, you can fight for your rights but always think your problem as a community`s problem. Do not think your problem as an individual problem. Fight for your rights (the officer`s apology) and let the bankers to know the pride of indian community. I guess you understand what I meant.
Everyone is facing problems every hour. It is the intelligence of a person will decide how the person tackle their problem. I suggest you to look at your problem as a community`s problem and help the community to overcome this problem. Just set your positive mentality towards your struggle in overcoming this community`s problem and the others will flow into your way. Just look at the needies in our community and start helping them. Your problem will disolve by itself. Believe me.
Cheers! Have a good day.
No matter you are male or female, i would say you are still miserable. Your reply to me are just useless. Maybe you need to understand more about yourself before you could talk about community and not just living for the sake within the community in whatever situation like you said. Maybe you should stop replying me and start contributing something for the society since you have highlighted so many problems that the community is facing. Just by talking and debating, nothing you could solve. What I have done? Find out who is the owner of 'Jaya Barathi Illam' and you shall get the answer 'when i actually turned into indian community'. If you wish to debate futher, you could email me at mymastermind79@yahoo.com because i don't want to mess this blog anymore. TQ
Krishnavengkat, you are asking us to be aware of our rights and practice them right? Then Ashokuma has every right to press the issue till he is satisfied.
I agree with Tamil Inam. Lodge a police report first. Ask for a copy of the police report. If no replies within 24 hrs, go gung ho on this matter. Scan the police report and send to Malaysiakini, Malaysia-Today, politicians blogs etc. Upload it here and we bloggers will distribute it for you.
The most important thing is don't back off a single step. If we keep thinking its just a small matter then one day we are gonna have one big massive problem. Cheers!

hi,
I am sorry if my message sounds negative to you. It is my duty to give detail explanation on about my message above to make it clear to you.
I want everybody to have their rights with them but at the same time have some respect and tolerance to other people. To my opinion, Mr. Ashok has done his part by showing his anger to the officer and the management. That is his rights to voice out his anger. The management promised to give him reply on the 21st July. I feel it is enough for the time being. Mr. Ashok can take further actions if the management fails to give solid and good reply for the misbehaviour of that particular officer.
My another reason is, we are living in a multiracial country. We have so many different religions, languages and culture. I am very sure there are so many good natured people and bad natured people in all community. I can bet you all races have these kind of negative thinking mentality people. If we take this incidents serious and we make a havoc out of it, I am sure we malaysians will lead to a racial tension situation. I want Mr. Ashok to demand for his rights to make the officer to ask for apologise and not to repeat te same action to others. In this matter, everyone has to have values such as high tolerance and patience. I agree some people from the malay community are arrogant and rude . Some politicians from the current federal government is showing example of this bad mentality.
Remember, we have many other important things to do. Our rights has been siezed in many aspects. Our own brothers were detained brutaly . That`s why I said Mr. Ashok`s matter is a common problem.Forget it and fight for our rights by holding hands with HINDRAF. First get all our rights as a community in this country. Obtaining 18 demands and giving freedom for our innocent brothers will surely give our pride and respect back. Please take our problem as a community`s problem and not as an individual`s problem. The same goes for HINDRAF struggle. Please take the struggle as our community`s problem and not as an individual`s struggle.
My last says is, please control anger. Getting angry will not help us to achieve anything. Be calm and think positively.........there will be so many achievements waiting to be ours.

hi,
I understand your anger. This is a common scenario which has been happening to almost everyone in all places. I regard this as a negative thinking mentality which the officer inherit from her parents and friends.
GOD is great because the public bank officer has sent that sms mistakenly to your wife`s handphone. I think you have done all the right things that you ought to do after reading that sms. I feel that is enough. Forgive her for her ignorance. Remember there are many more people who had and still facing traumas more serious than this. For example, some indian youth arrested for inquiry and some days later found death in lokaps for no reasons. Many more are harrassed and humilited by this kind of negative thinking people. Even our Hindraf heroes were detained under ISA due to this negative thinking problem. They don`t want Indians to wake up and ask for our rights. We have to stop this kind of mentality from hurting each other. We want this mentality to change. If want them to change, we have to bring out our pride and rights. That is why HINDRAF demands for 18 demands from this current government.
So, I guess you already understand your current problem is just a small part of our community`s problem. If you want this kind of incidents not to happen to yourself again, please make sure that your rights are always with you and it is secured with you. GOD bless you.
